From Sig Talk:
Honestly, I think most whites (and others) would trade places with Chris Rock.

That's a bad assumption on his part.

As far as affirmative action, if any one group is owed anything, it would be the American indians.  Affirmative action laws are discrimatory on their own.
Maybe it was a concert in Alabama or Mississippi??

Far as the Indians go, yes good point. BUT! ...where does normal evolutionary human history stop and deliberate criminal immoral discriminatory activity begin? Hell, if every human race/tribe/culture had to make "reparations" for winning out over another...I can't even fathom what an even worse f*cked up clusterf*ck this planet would be in. And under whose legal jurisdiction???

How about the Americans of Japanese descent who we hauled out of their homes in WWII and put in internment camps? We didn't do that to German Americans or the Italian Americans during the same war when we were fighting them. Yes, I know those families received reparations.

Guess I'm suggesting African Americans have a better beef with history than the American Indians.

Flame on...
I am from Texas but stationed in Virginia right now, I can't wait to retire from the military and return to Texas but there are so many leftists fleeing to Texas now that they have ruined their states.   I am kind of worried about what I will find when I return to Texas.   My parents say my empty tiny home town is now full of people from other states, a very scary thought.
Blame Rick Perry for making Texas so attractive to business. These Big Corporations he's recruiting with road trips to California and other states with low low low taxes, well...uh...require of lot of highly skilled and highly educated people that, er...I don't want to derail the thread, but maybe you can see where that goes.* And, the other corporations and businesses that require very low skilled labor, well that comes from, er...well maybe you can see where that goes, too.*

Rick Perry is handing the Republic of Texas to the Democrats and isn't bright enough to realize it.*

Some musings from my favorite gun forum: sigtalk.com

Somebody posted up a sign with the cost of a gallon of gas when Obama took office. I suggested there were a whole bunch of other signs and facts we could post about the state of affairs when he took office, like about the economy. And jobs.

SouthernYankee took issue with that and said:
Nev;Poor comparison on so many levels. When Obama was taking his Grad Law classes I was on the same side of the Charles taking some Grad Economics classes. He should have joined us, but it is obvious it that would have conflicted with his World View, then and now. His economic positions support a political outcome.

And then I said:
OK. But I don't understand how that'd be different than either party. Is not the blatant obstructionist Republican behavior during Obama's reign also to advance a political outcome?

The gas sign was about when Obama took office. -->Something presidents and politicians don't have anything to do with or control over. https://www.google.com/search?q=presidents+don%27t+control+gas+prices&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Even Fox news call BS on that:

There were a whole bunch of other realities going on when Obama came to office actually more relevant to a president's power. Like the job situation.

Separate from all the "socialist" accusations, what politics is Obama playing with the stock market at all time highs, corporate profits at all time high with ordinary SOB wages at all time low and zero prosecution of Wall Street criminals? All seems rather Republican to me.
